Do not lean over whilst standing on the ladder. Stand inside the stiles and with both feet on the same
step / rung.
Use ladder only for light work of short duration.
Do not use the ladder outside in adverse weather conditions such as strong winds.
Do not let children play on the ladder.
Secure doors (not fire doors) and lock windows in the work area.
Always face the ladder when climbing and descending.
When ascending and descending hold on the handrail.
Do not use the ladder as bridging.
Avoid excessive lateral loads, such as when drilling into masonry and concrete.
Do not stay too long on the ladder. Take regular breaks (tiredness is a risk).
Equipment carried when climbing a ladder should be light and easy to handle.
Avoid work that imposes a sideways load on stepladders, e.g. lateral drilling through solid materials
(such as brick or concrete).
When working on a ladder hold on with one hand, if this is not possible, take additional safety
precautions.
Repair
Do not use a damaged ladder. Repairs and maintenance must be performed by a competent person.
Maintenance
Clean the ladder
The ladder can be cleaned with water and a commercial cleaning agent. Colour stains can be removed with
turpentine.
ATTENTION: Do not let cleaners drip on the floor.
Lubrication of moving parts
All moving parts should be lubricated with commercial oil. In winter, thin oil should be used.
CAUTION: Wipe off excess oil.
Storage
To fold up the ladder, push the button on the edge of the top rung and push steps up towards the handle.
Protect your ladder from impact of adverse weather. The ladder should be stored horizontally.
During transport to or from the storage area, the head must be fixed and secured from slipping.
