IR Control
Symptom: IR remote won’t control tuner
Hold down IR remote
Select
, press
9
, and release both. Front-panel setting should be
15.9
. In addition,
check if the remote works when the lights are off. Some energy-saving fluorescent lights produce
interference at our IR frequency (57 Hz). Try to cover the IR sensor so the lights don’t affect operation, or
add the IR-RXC External IR Sensor. It’s easier to hide and tilt the sensor to help with reception, and you can
try Select and 4 to use the lower IR frequency (the RXC has both types of sensors).
RS-232 Control
Symptom: Unit has correct RS-232 codes installed, but TV/Projector won’t respond
When your or the factory installs an RS-232 code set, the correct baud rate is set as well – almost all the
time. There have been cases where the baud rate isn’t set, so check to see if the baud rate is right. Enable
the front panel menus (Page 10). For most codes, the typical baud rate setting is 1.6 - 9600 baud. If it’s not
1.6, set the tuner to 9600 and see if that works. There are a few projectors that use a different baud rate –
call CR Support and check with us on the setting.
Line 21 (analog) Captioning on Video Output
Symptom: Video out does not include captioning
The 232-ATSC+ does not carry forward closed captioning codes when tuned to an analog channel. However,
all captioning from digital TV channels is converted to analog captioning on the video output.
