SOUND ADVICE
The Consonance a120 linear Hybrid Integrated Amplifier is easy to connect and operate and requires no prior
technical knowledge. However, to get the most out of the amplifier's superior sound and music quality, we
have provided a brief description of the connections and use of the amplifier in order to provide a total music
experience.
We recommend keeping this user guide for future reference.
GENERAL USE
The amplifier is switched on with the button
①
in the left of the front panel. A flashing " -- -- --" blue light in the
display
②
indicates that power is switched on. By pushing the same button one more time the power is
switched off.
When power is switched on, the blue indicator located behind the left side of display will light and keep flashing
slightly. After about 30 seconds, the blue indicator will stop flashing and indicate normal tube filament
operation.
Note: It takes about 1 minute for the 6H30 tube to reach its normal operating point, and only slight
sonic improvement will be noticed after 5 minutes.
On the right of the front panel, the right knob
④
is the channel selector with selections: INPUT1(“ IN1”),
INPUT2(“ IN2”), INPUT3(“ IN3”), BALANCED INPUT(“BAL”), and the left knob
③
is the volume control.
Note: all the function of input selecting and volume control could be displayed on the screen, which
will go automatically dim 20 seconds later. When the mute function is switched on, the present volume
level will keep flashing on the screen to indicates mute mode is on.
Avoid connecting input cables or selecting inputs with the source selector switch if the volume setting of the
amplifier is not fully turned down and the speakers are connected. A transient signal might then arise, which
can damage the speakers. The amplifier will not be harmed, but to avoid overloading the speakers, the volume
should be turned fully down or the mute function should be switched on when connecting and disconnecting
cables.
Note: The volume will be turned fully down automatically when the amplifier is switched off and re-
switched on for the same reason.
