Safety Instructions
Read the complete operating manual carefully before using the product, as it
contains important information about the proper installation and operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any resulting
damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The
warranty will be void in such cases!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install it
yourself but entrust the work to a quali
fi
ed electrician.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modi
fi
cation of the product is inadmissible
because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The product is not a toy and does not belong in the hands of children! Install the
product out of the reach of children.
• The product is designed according to protection class III.
• The light may be operated only via a suitable power pack with a stabilised output
voltage of 24 V/DC (direct current) which provides a suf
fi
ciently high output cur-
rent.
When connecting the product, pay attention to the correct polarity (internal con-
tact must have po, external contact negative/-). The round low-voltage plug
required for the connection must have an external diameter of 3.5 mm and an
internal diameter of 1.3 mm.
We recommend the power pack with item no. 563196 available as accessory,
which is specially designed for this light.
• Due to the special design, multiple lights identical in design and construction (order
no. 563171 and/or 563172) can be connected in series. The suitable connectors
are not included in the package of the lights. They must be ordered as accessories
(see e.g. www.conrad.com).
Make sure the maximum output power of the power pack used corresponds to at
least the total output of the lights connected.
Independent of this, a maximum of 12 lights with the item no. 563171 or a maxi-
mum of 6 lights with the item no. 563172 may be connected in series.
• The light may be installed and used in dry indoor rooms only; it must not become
damp or wet.
• Use the lamp only when it is permanently mounted.
• Do not use this light in rooms that are under adverse ambient conditions where
combustible gases, vapours or dust are or may be present! There is a risk of explo-
sion!
• Do not hang or attach objects (e.g. decorative material) to the light; there is a risk
of
fi
re!
• Caution, LED light:
Do not look directly into the LED light!
Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
• The product must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress.
• If it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the device must be
turned off and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unintention-
ally. After this, arrange for an expert to check the product.
Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- the product does not work at all or works poorly (where there is
fl
ickering light,
leaking smoke or a smell of burning, audible crackling noises, or discolouration
of the product or to adjacent surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a
dangerous plaything for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed!
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Preparations for Installation
Please consult the chapter “Safety Instructions”!
• Make sure you install the light only to a solid base, e.g. beneath a kitchen cabinet).
• The light is intended to be placed and used only in dry indoor rooms; it must not become
damp or wet.
• Do not mount the light on easily
fl
ammable surfaces.
• The light must be installed and used out of the reach of children.
• Installation and connection of the LED light may be done only in the absence of any voltage.
The light may be operated only via a suitable power pack with a stabilised output
voltage of 24 V/DC (direct current) that has a suf
fi
ciently high output current.
When connected to other voltage/power supplies, the light will be destroyed, loss of
warranty!
