Connection
• Turn off both computers and the monitor.
• Connect the purple PS/2 plug (6) to the PS/2 keyboard port on PC 2, then the green PS/2 plug
(7) to the PS/2 mouse port on PC 2, and finally the VGA plug (8) to the first computer (PC 2).
• Connect the purple PS/2 plug (1) to the PS/2 keyboard port on PC 1, then the green PS/2 plug
(2) to the PS/2 mouse port on PC 1, and finally the VGA plug (3) to the second computer (PC 1).

• Place the cable remote control (10) near your keyboard.
☞
Pay close attention, when connecting the PS/2 plugs or jacks, to the colour identifi-
cation (keyboard = purple, mouse = green) so it always matches; otherwise, it will
not function.
Getting Started
• Switch on both computers.
• Pressing the button on the cable remote control (10) only switches back and forth between the
two computers. You will always see the picture on monitor from the computer selected, and the
keyboard and mouse are always active on the same selected computer. The LED on the case of
the remote control changes colour to indicate the switch over (PC 1 = green, PC 2 = orange).
Button Functions
The switching can also be done using the keys on the PS/2 keyboard instead of the cable remote
control. The following key combinations are available:
= Switch to PC 1
= Switch to PC 2
or = Switch to PC 1 or PC 2
or = Switch to previous or next PC
= Automatic switching function between the two PCs
(10 seconds per PC)
+ any key = ends the automatic switching function
= Reset mouse (if PS/2 mouse no longer functions)
= Break (or Switching Mode End/Break)
Tips & Notes
• The KVM cable can only switch analogue VGA monitor signals. Therefore, it is only suitable
for use with a monitor with an analogue VGA connection. It is not possible to use it with moni-
tors with exclusively digital interfaces (e.g. DVI).
• For connection to graphics cards with a DVI port, an appropriate VGA-DVI adapter is availa-
ble (not included). The use of a DVI port, in connection with a VGA-DVI adapter, requires that
an analogue monitor signal is also available on the DVI port of the graphics card.
• If one of the computers is turned off, you cannot switch to that computer.
• Do not use an extension cable between the jacks/plugs on the KVM cable and the computers,
or the PS/2 keyboard/mouse, as this can lead to malfunctions. Moreover, use of VGA cables
degrades the picture quality on the connected VGA monitor.
