Connection
1 Alarm contact (normally open contact, NO)
2 Tamper switch (normally closed contact, NC)
3 Pressure-resistant edge for attachment
The alarm floor mat is hidden, e.g. behind a door under the carpet or a floor mat. The alarm
floor mat consists of two electro conductive layers, which function as a closure contact under
mechanical load (also known as „NOC“ (normally open contact)). The connection to an
appropriate alarm loop of the alarm system is made via the two cables (1).
A tamper switch is built-in as protection against tampering. It functions as a break contact
(also known as „NC“ (normally closed) contact). Connect this to the alarm system as well,
pay attention to the alarm system’s operating instructions.
☞
The connections to the alarm floor mat are made with suitable cables, take care
not to cause any short-circuits (false alarm), e.g. use shrink tubing.
The alarm floor mat is usually fixed in place with adhesive tape; the outer edge (3) of the
alarm floor mat is suitable for this purpose.
You may also use double-sided adhesive tape to attach the alarm floor mat to the floor.

☞
Make sure the alarm floor mat does not become damaged while attaching it to
the floor (e.g. protruding nails/screws, small stones or dirt).
The alarm floor mat must be laid out flat on the floor. Declivities, corner battens
or tile joins may lead to malfunctions. Moreover, the carpet or the floor mat that
is placed over the alarm floor mat, should not be too heavy.
Place the alarm floor mat where it cannot get damp or wet. Pay attention so
that neither the alarm floor mat nor the connection cables are visible.
Switch on your alarm system after installation and check the functioning of the alarm floor
mat by stepping on it.
If the alarm is not activated, check that the connection is correct (NC or NO contact inter-
changed or similar).
Disposal
Please dispose of the device, when it is no longer of use, according to the current
