4. Safety instructions
We do not assume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury if the product has been
abused in any way or damaged by improper use or failure to observe these operating instructions. The
warranty will then expire!
An exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important information in the operating instructions. Carefully
read the whole operating instructions before operating the device, otherwise there is risk of danger.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the device are inadmissible because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
Only a mains socket from the public supply grid (230 V~ 50 Hz) may be used as the source of electric power. Never try to
operate the appliance on any other voltage.
Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables between the camera system equipment and accessory
appliances that are to be connected conform to the regulations and comply with the operating instructions.
In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s Liability Insurance Association for
Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
In schools, training centres, computer and self-help workshops, handling of electrical appliances must be carried out or
supervised by qualified and responsible personnel.
Observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to this device.
Consult a specialist if you have doubts about how the devices operate, their safety or the connection of the devices.
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or parts are removed (unless this can be done without tools).
Contact points may also be live. Before calibrating, cleaning, servicing, repair work or the replacement of parts or
assemblies, the appliance must be disconnected from all electricity sources if it has to be opened. If servicing or repairs
inside the appliance are necessary, this must be carried out by a specialist who is familiar with the risks involved and with
the relevant regulations.
Never touch the plug-in power adapter with wet or damp hands. Risk of a fatal electrical shock!
Never pull on the cables of the plug-in power adapter. Always pull the plug-in power adapter out of the socket by gripping
its housing.
For safety reasons, always disconnect the plug-in power adapters from the mains socket during electrical storms.
When setting up the appliance, make sure that the connection cable is not pinched or damaged by sharp edges.
If you have reasons to believe that safe operation is not possible any longer, disconnect the appliance immediately and
secure it against inadvertent operation.
Reasons to believe that safe operation is no longer possible include:
the device is visibly damaged,
it does not function any longer and
it has been subjected to heavy stress during transport.
Never put the devices into operation immediately after they have been taken from a cold to a warm environment. The
condensation which arises could damage the devices. Allow the devices to reach room temperature before switching
them on.
Electric devices are not toys and have no place in the hands of children.
Make sure that the device is sufficiently ventilated.
Avoid heavy mechanical stress, high temperatures or strong vibration, which can damage devices.
Never place the devices on an unstable surface. Ensure that they do not fall down and cause injury.
This camera system creates, uses and radiates high-frequency energy. If the devices cannot be installed and operated
as stated in the instructions, disruption to other devices could arise. If the wireless camera system should disturb other
devices, it is the duty of the operator to stop this through one or several of the measures listed below:
alter the position of the wireless camera
Increase the distance between the device disturbed and the wireless camera or the TFT monitor of the wireless camera
system
select another transmission channel
The wireless camera system set cannot replace the personal supervision of a child or those in need of care, but can only
be of aid in performing such activities.
Do not leave the packaging material lying around carelessly since this may become a dangerous toy for children.
Observe also the operating instructions for the devices to be connected.
Servicing, adjustment or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist workshop.
If any questions arise that are not answered in this operating instruction, contact our Technical Advisory Service or other
experts.
