Version 09/10
Item-No. 67 22 13
Intended Use
This table clock is intended to display the time, date, day of the week as well as the room tem-
perature (°C or °F; can be selected). The day of the week can be displayed in 7 different languages
(German, English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Danish). Furthermore, the table clock has an
alarm function, snooze function as well as a green background LED light (can be activated if
desired).
By using the integrated DCF receiver, the time of day and the date can be set automatically and,
of course, also manually.
The DCF table clock is powered by 2 x 1.5 volts Mignon batteries (type: AA).
The product is only approved for use in dry indoor locations.
Any other use than that described above, could lead to damage to this product and involves the
risk of short circuits, fire, electric shock, etc.
No part of the product should be modified or reassembled.
The safety instructions are to be observed without fail!
Explanation of the Symbols
Ꮨ
A lightning-bolt symbol in a triangle indicates a health hazard, e.g. danger of electric
shock.
The exclamation mark in a triangle indicates a particular risk during handling,
operation and control.
☞
The „Hand„ symbol indicates special tips and operating information.

Battery Safety Information
• Batteries should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Please pay attention to the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the battery.
• Do not leave batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by chil-
dren or domestic animals. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries can lead to caustic burning of the skin. Therefore, use suitable
protective gloves.
• Make sure that the battery is neither short-circuited nor thrown into a fire. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
• If it is not to be used for a while (e.g. storage), remove the battery. Old batteries may leak and
cause damage to the product, which will lead to the loss of the warranty/guarantee.
• For the correct disposal of batteries, please read the chapter „Disposal”.

Getting Started
• Open the „battery compartment” (K) on the rear of the housing and insert 2 x 1.5V Mignon
batteries of the type (Type: AA), paying attention to the correct polarity (observe po and
negative/-). All display elements appear in the display briefly. A short acoustic signal then
confirms that the clock is ready for use.
• Close the battery compartment.
• The radio symbol flashes „
”. This indicates that the clock is searching for the DCF signal.
During a DCF signal search, the buttons on the device are locked.
☞
When deciding where to use the table clock, take care to place it far from
electric/electronic devices, cables, mains sockets or metal parts. These may have a
negative influence on the reception of the DCF signal.
• The table clock can receive and utilize the so-called DCF signal. This is a signal that is sent by a
transmitter in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt/Main). It has a range of up to 1,500 km and, under ideal
reception conditions, even up to 2,000 km. Among other information, the DCF signal includes the
exact time (theoretical deviation is 1 second in one million years) and the date. Naturally, the com-
plicated manual setting of summer and winter time is not required when using the received DCF
signal. However, the time can also be set manually.
☞
During summer time, the display shows the letters „DST” . DST means „Daylight
Saving Time” = Summer time.
• During normal operation, the table clock attempts to receive the DCF signal daily at 3.00 am
(night), since at this time there are optimum reception conditions (low external interferences).
The table clock performs further attempts at reception at 4.00 am, 5.00 am and 6.00 am. In the
event of a failure (= no signal reception possible) the radio symbol „
” in the display goes
out.
• It is possible to try to receive the DCF signal manually, by pressing the buttons „
”
(C) and „
” (I) simultaneously for three seconds. In the event of failure (=
no signal reception possible), the radio symbol „
” in the display goes out. in which case, the
DCF table clock makes three more attempts within 3 hours to receive the DCF signal.
If the DCF signal can be received, the radio symbol „
” flashes.
Once the DCF signal has been received successfully, the radio symbol „
” is shown
continually in the display.
☞
The reception of the DCF signal can take up to 5 minutes. During this time, do not
move the table clock. Do not use any buttons.
Bad reception can be caused, for example, by metallised insulating glass windows,
reinforced concrete constructions, coated special wallpaper, heating devices,
electric/electronic devices located in the vicinity of the product or placement in cellar
rooms.
