Safety instructions
Please read all the instructions before using this device, they include
important information on the correct operation.
In case of damage incurred by disregarding this instruction manual, the
warranty claim is void. We do not assume any liability for any damage
arising as a consequence!
We do not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by improper handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In
such cases the guarantee will be nullified.
• For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion of, and/or
modifications to the product are not permitted.
• The device must not be exposed to extreme temperatures, strong vibrations or
heavy mechanical stress.
• The ground light fixture does not belong in the hands of children! There is a risk
of a fatal electric shock.
• The device is designed according to safety class I.
• The ground light fixture may only be operated on a mains voltage of
230V~/50Hz. Never attempt to operate the ground light fixture at another
voltage, this will destroy it.
• Do not operate the ground light fixture in rooms or unfavourable environmental
conditions, where there is or could be flammable gases, vapours or dust!
• The ground light fixture is protected according to IP67.
•
Thereby the number „6“ represents complete protection against contact with hot
or interior parts and complete protection against dust.
•
The second number „7“ means that harmful amounts of water may not penetrate
when the equipment is immersed in water under the designated pressure/ time
conditions of 0.15 - 1m.
• To avoid eye injuries, do not look at the light source or point the light at persons
or animals.
• Do not carelessly leave the packaging material lying around since this may
become a dangerous toy for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the employer’s

Preparations for Installation
The installation of ground light fixture may only be done by a qualified pro-
fessional (e.g. electrician), who is familiar with the relevant regulations!
Improper work carried out at the mains voltage endangers not only your life
but also the life of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install
it yourself but ask a qualified technician.
Please note:
• The ground light fixture is intended to be installed in the ground, e.g. along garden paths.
• Because of its design and protection class IP67, the ground light fixture may be installed and
operated in exposed exterior locations.
However, do not operate the ground light fixture directly in or under water.
• The ground light fixture must be secured in the on site sub-distribution with a 10/16A-Safe-
ty feature.
An earth leakage circuit breaker must be installed before this, (FI protective switch).
• The installation of the ground light fixture may only be done in a voltage-free state. It is not
sufficient to just turn off the light switch!
Turn the power off and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off the circuit breaker.
Assure it against an unauthorised re-start, e.g. with a danger sign.
• Check that the mains connection is free of current e.g. with an appropriate tester.
Mounting
Pay attention to the information in chapter „Mounting preparations“!
• Select an appropriate installation position for the mounting case.
Please note the correct assembly of the mounting case, e.g. if you want to align the hexa-
gon socket screw of the stainless steel lid with the side of the building.
For a fixed installation, first check the correct height of the ground light fixture’s stainless
steel lid, then set the mounting case at the appropriate depth.
When the mounting case is professionally installed (e.g. embedded in concrete), the ground
light fixture can be used for vehicles (total vehicle weight up to 2.5 tons).
However, when used in this way, more scratches will appear on the glass and stainless steel lid!
• Lay the ground light fixture connection cable through the mounting case.
Make sure that the connection cable is not damaged by the sharp edges of the
mounting case! Lay the connection cable at an appropriate depth in the ground.
Use an appropriate sheath tube for the cable.
Lay all the cables in a way that they can not be damaged by garden work (digging
in a flower bed).
• Connect the connection cable to the ground light fixture with the mains voltage (brown cable
= L , blue cable = N, green/yellow cable = PE/earth wire).
Use a suitable terminal box with a terminal strip to connect the ground light fixture’s mains
cable to the mains power supply.
Please consult the instruction manual of the terminal box to see it is intended for
installation and operation in an exposed exterior setting (terminal box must follow
IP68 for exteriors).
In case of doubt, contact a qualified technician and do not carry out the
connection and mounting yourself.
The protective earth conductor must be connected to the ground light fixture! If
the ground light fixture is used as an alternative for an already existing light and
there is no available protective earth conductor, the ground light fixture may not
be installed. Lay a new feeder beforehand.
If no protective earth conductor is connected, in case of a fault, the metal housing
of the ground light fixture could be connected to the mains voltage. There is the
risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Unscrew the hexagon socket screw from the stainless steel lid and take it off.
Then the ground light fixture can be bolted down to the mounting case with the appropriate
screws.
• Put the stainless steel lid back on correctly and screw it on tightly.
• Switch on the mains power supply and check the operation of the ground light fixture.
If the LEDs do not light up, immediately switch off the mains power (take out the
fuse or switch off the circuit breaker).
Then check the connection to the ground light fixture.
In case of doubt contact a professional (e.g. an electrician).
Care and maintenance
The ground light fixture is maintenance-free. Never take the product apart (except for per-
forming the work described in this operating manual).
The used LED illuminants have a long durability; they do not need to be resp. cannot be
exchanged.
Only clean the stainless steel lid and the glass pane with a clean, soft cloth that can be
moistened with water.
Never use an aggressive cleaning agent or chemical solvent; this can affect the casing (dis-
colouration).
Do not press down too hard on the transparent glass element or the housing, as scratches
might appear.
Handling
If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect the device
immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation.
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device shows visible signs of damage
- the device no longer operates
- the device was stored under unfavourable conditions for a long period of time or
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Disposal
When the product is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with the app-
licable statutory regulations.
