Maintenance and care
The product does not require any maintenance. You should never open it or take it apart.
Remove connected consumer loads from the radio controlled mains socket and disconnect it
from the mains socket prior to cleaning of the product.
Only clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth. Never use aggressive cleansing agents or
chemical solutions since this might damage the surface of the housing or impair operation.
Handling
Ꮨ
• The product is only to be used in closed, dry indoor locations. The product must
not get damp or wet.
• Avoid the following unfavourable environmental conditions at the installation loca-
tion and during transportation:
- Excessive humidity or damp
- direct sunlight
- extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loud-
speakers
• Ensure that the insulation for the entire product is neither damaged nor destroyed.
Do not disassemble the product! The housing does not contain any serviceable
parts.
• Check the product for damage before use!
If you recognize damages do no longer use the product! There is a risk of a life-
threatening electric shock!
Safe operation must be presumed to be no longer possible:
- if it is visibly damaged
- if the device no longer works
- it has been stored for longer periods under unfavourable conditions
- the device was exposed to extraordinary stress caused by transport.
Transmission range
The transmission range of the radio signals between hand-held transmitter and radio controlled
mains socket is up to 30m under optimum conditions.
☞
This data, however, is the so-called “open space range” (range with intervisibility of
transmitter and receiver, without interfering influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms etc. between
the transmitter and the receiver which reduce the range correspondingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission no certain range can be
guaranteed.
Nevertheless, usually operation in a single-family home is possible without prob-
lems.
The coverage can partly be limited considerably by:
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• coated/metallised insulated glass
• proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
• proximity to human body
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobiles, radio-con-
trolled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, other radio-controlled weather stations, baby-
phones etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• the proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric appli-
ances
Disposal
Dispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life according to the relevant legal
provisions and regulations (e.g. return it to a special recycling facility of your town).
