don’t mix. If your hair dryer falls in water while it’s
plugged in, the electric shock can
kill you…even if the switch is “off.”
A regular fuse or circuit breaker
won’t protect you under these cir-
cumstances. A GFCI offers you far
greater protection.
A GFCI can save your life! Compared to that,
the price is small! Don’t wait...install

*GFCI is a sensitive device which reacts immedi-
ately to a small electric current leak by stopping
the electricity flow.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
FOR DUAL-VOLTAGE DRYERS
For use in North America, the voltage selector
switch should be placed in the 125 position. For
use in several countries overseas, the voltage
selector may need to be placed in the 250 posi-
tion. Confirm the voltage available at each over-
seas location before using the appliance. For con-
nection to a 240-volt supply, use an attachment
plug adapter of the proper configuration for the
power supply.
For 110-125 Volt Operation
Flick the dual voltage switch to the 125
position. In this position, the dryer has two
settings. It provides two speeds and two
heats—low speed and low heat on LO and
high speed and high heat on HI.
For 220-250 Volt Operation
First put the HI-LO switch into LO. Flick the Dual
voltage switch to the 250 position. At 220-250V
while set at LO, the dryer operates only at high
speed with high heat.
Do not attempt to operate
the HI-LO switch or change to 125 when oper-
ating on 220-250V. The switches must be set
and remain in the LO and 250 positions.
A plug
adapter may be necessary in certain countries.
USER
MAINTENANCE
Your dryer is virtually maintenance free. No lubri-
cation is needed. For proper operating perfor-
mance, the dryer must be kept clean. When
cleaning is needed, unplug the cord, and clean
dust and lint from air intake openings with a
small brush or the brush attachment of a vacuum
cleaner. The outer surface of the dryer should be
wiped clean with a damp cloth only.
Blocked or clogged air intake vents will cause
the dryer to overheat.
If overheating occurs, an automatic safety device
will shut the dryer or the heat off to prevent dam-
age or personal injury. If the unit or the heat
cycles off, unplug the cord and allow the dryer to
cool for 10 to 15 minutes before restarting. Make
sure the air vents are clean.
CAUTION
NEVER allow the power supply cord to be pulled,
twisted, or severely bent. Never wrap the cord
tightly around the dryer. Damage will occur at the
high flex point of entry into the dryer, causing it
to rupture and short. Inspect the cord frequently
for damage.
Stop use immediately if damage is
visible or unit stops or operates intermittently.
If the cord or dryer is damaged or does not oper-
ate properly, return it for repair to an authorized
Conair service representative only. No repairs
should be attempted by the consumer.
STORAGE - Important
When not in use, your dryer should be discon-
nected and stored in a safe, dry location, out of
reach of children.
Do not wrap line cord
around dryer.
Allow the cord to hang or lie loose
and straight at the point of entry into the dryer.
LIMITED TWO YEAR WARRANTY
Conair will repair or replace, at our option, your
appliance free of charge for 24 months from the
date of purchase if the appliance is defective in
workmanship or materials.
To obtain service under this warranty, return the
defective product to the service centre nearest
you, together with your sales slip and $7.50 for
postage and handling. In the absence of a receipt,
the warranty period shall be 24 months from the
date of manufacture.
ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS, OR
LIABILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO
THE IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILI-
TY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PUR-
POSE, SHALL BE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE
24 MONTH DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.
IN NO EVENT SHALL CONAIR BE LIABLE FOR
ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUEN-
TIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY
OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
WHATSOEVER.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and
you may also have other rights which vary from
province to province.

Un électricien pourra vous aider à décider du
type qui convient le mieux – un dispositif portatif
qui se branche dans la prise de courant ou un
dispositif fixe monté à même la prise murale. Le
code de l’électricité stipule désormais l’installa-
tion de prises à disjoncteur différentiel dans les
salles de bain, les garages et à l’extérieur pour
toutes les nouvelles maisons.
POURQUOI UN DISJONCTEUR
DIFFÉRENTIEL?
L’électricité et l’eau ne font pas
bon ménage. Si votre sèche-
cheveux devrait faire défaut
alors qu’il est branché, le choc électrique pourrait
vous tuer... même si l’appareil est éteint. Un
fusible ou un disjoncteur régulier ne vous pro-
tège pas dans pareil cas. Le disjoncteur différen-
tiel vous protégera beaucoup mieux.
Un disjoncteur différentiel peut vous sauver la
vie. Tous comptes faits, le prix en vaut bien la
chandelle. Ne tardez pas. Installez-en un dès
maintenant!
*Un disjoncteur différentiel est un dispositif sen-
sible qui coupe le courant dès qu’une petite fuite
de courant électrique se produit.
RENSEIGNEMENTS ADDITIONNELS
SÈCHE-CHEVEUX BITENSION
En Amérique du Nord, le sélecteur de tension
doit ietre réglé sur 125. Dans plusieurs pays
outremer, le sélecteur doit être placé sur 250.
Vérifiez la tension du secteur où vous êtes avant
d’utiliser le sèche-cheveux. Pour le branchement
sur un secteur 240 volts, utilisez l’adaptateur de
fiche approprié, en fonction du type de prise de
courant.
Secteur 110-125 volts
Régler le sélecteur de tension sur 125. À cette
position, le sèche-cheveux peut être réglé à toute
vitesse et toute chaleur..
Secteur 220-250 volts
Régler d’abord le commutateur HI-LO sur LO.
Régler ensuite le sélecteur de tension sur 250.
Sur un secteur 220-250 volts et à LO, le sèche-
cheveux fonctionne à vitesse élevée et chaleur
élevée. Sur un secteur 220-250 volts, ne jamais
utili ser le commutateur HI-LO ni régler le
sélecteur sur 125. Les réglages doivent
demeurer sur LO et 250. Certains pays
demanderont l’utilisation d’un adaptateur de
prise de courant.
ENTRETIEN PAR
L’UTILISA TEUR
Le sèche-cheveux ne demande pratiquement
aucun entretien. Pour assurer un bon fonction-
nement, le sèche-cheveux doit être tenu propre.
Si vous devez le nettoyer, débranchez-le, puis
enlevez la poussière ou les peluches des évents
avec la petite brosse d’un aspirateur. La sur face
extérieure du sèche-cheveux ne devrait qu’être
essuyée avec un linge humide.
Des évents bloqués ou bouchés feront su
chauffer le sèche-cheveux.
S'il y a surchauffage, un dispositif automatique
de sécurité éteindra le sèche-cheveux ou coupera
la chaleur pour éviter des dommages ou des
blessures. Si cela se produit, débranchez le
cordon et laissez le sèche-cheveux refroidir 10 à
15 minutes avant de le remettre en marche.
Assurez-vous que les évents sont propres.

Conair , à sa discrétion, réparera ou remplacera
sans frais un appareil si, au cours des 24 mois
suivant la date de l’achat, il affiche un vice de
matière ou de fabrication.

le plus près, indiqué ci-dessous, accompagné du
bon de caisse et de 7 .50 $ pour les frais de po ste
et administratifs. En l’absence du bon de caisse,
la période de garantie sera de 24 mois à compter
de la date de fabrication.

MISE EN GARDE
Ne JAMAIS tirer, tordre ni plier fortement le
cordon. Ne jamais enrouler le cordon autour du
sèche-cheveux. On risque de l’endommager au
point d’entrée dans le sèche-cheveux, occasionnant
ainsi un bris ou un court-circuit. Cesser d’utiliser
le sèche-cheveux s’il fonctionne mal ou de
façon intermittente. Si le cordon ou le sèche-
cheveux est endommagé ou ne fonctionne pas
correctement. le renvoyer au service agréé
Conair où on le réparera. Le consommateur ne
devrait jamais tenter de le réparer lui-même.
RANGEMENT- Important
Quand on ne l’utilise pas, débrancher le sèche-
cheveux et le ranger en lieu sûr et sec, hors de la
portée des enfants. Ne pas enrouler le cordon
autour du sèche-cheveux.
Laissez-le pendre ou reposer lâchement à la
sortie de la poignée.
