Battery charger
12V automatic portable accumulator charger, power supply of 220V. In order to guarantee safe
and correct use of the charger, it is necessary to read these attached instructions carefully before
the use.
Types of accumulators:
This accumulator charger is intended for charging maintenance-free
lead accumulators.
Caution:
Avoid skin or clothing staining with electrolyte: it is a strongly acidic liquid which can
cause burns. If any skin or clothing staining occurs anyway, it is necessary to wash the stained spot
with running water. Harmful vapours are released during accumulator charging. It is forbidden to
use naked flame in the vicinity of the accumulator and the room should be ventilated properly
during accumulator charging. It is necessary to loosen caps of individual cells before accumulator
charging. The charger is indented for use in interiors only.
Storage:
Store the accumulator charger always in a dry area so that moisture could not damage
the transformer. The accumulator charger was produced solely for use in interiors. If any damage
of the power supply cable of the accumulator charger occurs, do not use the charger any more. It is
necessary to have it repaired in a service plant.
Instructions for use:
Disconnect and remove the accumulator from the vehicle before charging.
Otherwise the electronic system installed in the vehicle could be damaged due to the expected
occurrence of voltage peaks!
- Remove the accumulator caps and check electrolyte level. Replenish distilled water if
necessary (according to the charged accumulator documentation).
- In order to avoid acid splashing during charging, return the caps back (however, do not screw
them).
For model 8Amp only:
-
Set the values on the charger according to the accumulator type (6/12V)
.
-
Set the charging rate
:
- slow charging (motorcycles)
- fast charging (cars)
- Connect the red terminal to the + pole of the accumulator and the black one to the - pole.
-
Plug the power supply cable into a 220V wall socket; the charger will start accumulator charging.
This is an automatic charger; the charging current is modified automatically as required. The
applied charging current is indicated with an ammeter incorporated in the charger. If the
accumulator is discharged, the charging current is high and its value then drops progressively in
dependence upon accumulator charge level during charging. If the charging current drops to a
level approaching to zero, the accumulator is charged.
Available values are , and .
Erroneous connection of poles or short-circuiting results in a break of a fuse (the fuse slot is
positioned in the front). Rectify erroneous connection or short-circuit and replace the fuse by a new
one; use always a fuse with the same values as the original one!
The charger is turned off automatically in the event of overloading or overheating (it is fitted with an
internal thermal fuse). The charger will turn on automatically after sufficient cooling down.
Disconnect the power supply cable from the wall socket at first and then disconnect the charger
from the accumulator after the accumulator is charged completely. Tighten the accumulator caps
properly. Clean the contacts before re-connection of the accumulator to the vehicle.
