Removing the Real Time Clock (RTC) Battery

Disassembly

Sequence

Processor

RTC
Battery

The lithium RTC

battery is located

in a removable

socket on the

system board.

Perform the
preparation
procedures.

Remove the
hood.

Move the air
baffle out of
the way.

Remove the
drive cage

Locate the RTC

battery.

Push down on

the socket

lever and

slide the RTC

battery out of

the socket .

End of sequence.

To replace the RTC

battery, reverse

this procedure.
