6.26.4 MAC Address Table—Multicast Filtering
Multicasts are similar to broadcasts, they are sent to all end stations on a LAN or VLAN.
Multicast filtering is the function, which end stations can receive the multicast traffic if the
connected ports had been included in the specific multicast groups. With multicast filtering,
network devices only forward multicast traffic to the ports that are connected to the
registered end stations.
IP Address
: Assign a multicast group IP address in the range of 224.0.0.0 ~
239.255.255.255.
Member Ports
: Tick the check box beside the port number to include them as the
member ports in the specific multicast group IP address.
Click
to append a new filter of multicast to the field, or select the filter in the
field and click
to remove it.
