Assembly

Welcome cubbies have a tool-free connecting  system. Lift
one unit and slide it down into the connector on the other
unit. See Figure A.

Figure A

Welcome cubbies connect to Welcome benches and Corner
benches in the same way.
Welcome cubbies also connect to  Roomscapes  panels and
shelving units using  Roomscapes posts.

 CAUTION

This will require 2 people. Do not rearrange units with

children nearby.

Operation

Figure B

Removal of name covers

To remove the name cover push it up into top slot and pull
bottom edge forward. See figure B.
To install a name cover push it up into top slot and push
bottom edge in, and then slide the name cover down into
bottom slot.

Removal of dividers

Every other divider between the top pockets can be
removed to give more space per child if needed.

Figure C

 CAUTION

There should be at least 2 dividers left in the unit for

strength.

Stabilizers:

The yellow stabilizers at the back of the units fold out of the
way automatically when the units are pushed against a wall
or are used back to back.

 WARNING

Do not remove or disable the stabilizers in any way.

They give added stability to the Welcome cubbies when
they are used as room dividers.

Connection to Roomscapes posts:

Welcome cubbies can be connected to Roomscapes posts
and panels. The posts attach to the plastic couplings that are
on the ends of the Welcome cubbies. See figure D.

The

childproof lock ring

on the bottom of the post pre-

vents children from taking setups apart. It locks automati-
cally when the bottom of the post is on the floor. Release it
by turning it as far as it goes while lifting the post.

 WARNING

When using a Roomscapes post to connect two items

always make sure that the childproof ring is locked.

For more information on the Roomscapes connecting system
see the Roomscapes product guide F601 supplied by Com-
munity Playthings with every Roomscapes order.

Maintenance

Periodically inspect for cracks, breaks, loose parts, missing
parts, and/or malfunctions.  Remove the product from ser-
vice when any condition develops that might make opera-
tion unsafe.

Cleaning

Clean the Welcome cubbies with mild detergent and water.
Too much water will harm the finish of the wood. Vacuum
out the top pockets.

Construction

The wooden components are manufactured from solid birch
or birch plywood protected with a child-safe finish. The
hooks, dividers and stabilizer parts are plastic. The name
covers are clear plastic.
