Functions & configuration
Basic settings
When the option module EB8E4A is connected to an Intercom module and therefore linked with an In-
tercom Server, the server identifies the EB8E4A automatically. A green LED on the top of the EB8E4A
shows the status of the option module:
Very fast blinking (125 ms): No configuration available (factory setting).
Fast blinking (250 ms): Configuration available, offline mode.
Normal blinking (625 ms): Configuration available, online mode.
After the server configuration is read out via the configuration software CCT 800, the EB8E4A will be
shown as sub-folder in the respective Intercom station folder at
Subscriber > Station properties
.

Inputs and outputs
The EB8E4A has eight digital inputs and four relay outputs. With that, it complements the existing con-
nections on an Intercom module, e.g. to connect additional switches, push buttons, etc. The relay out-
puts “OUT1” as well as “OUT2” are designed as NO contacts and “OUT3” as well as “OUT4” are de-
signed as changeover contacts.
The eight digital inputs can be used for all features, which are shown at
Subscriber > Station
properties > EB8E4A
. Three inputs (“IN1” to “IN3”) of them are available for additional features,
e.g. for input messages or dialling simulations. These three inputs can be linked with the screw ter-
minals from “E1” to “E8”.
The four relay outputs can be used for all features within or outside the folder
EB8E4A
.
Attention:
If the configuration of the outputs differ from the offline functions, switching errors may occur. E.g. if
“OUT1” that is assigned for the call lamp in offline mode is connected to a door opener, the door opener
will be triggered by a call. For further information,
see ”Offline output configuration” on page 20
Notes:
The virtual inputs, which are named “E1” to “E8” in CCT 800, correspond with the physical screw ter-
minals, which are labelled “IN1” to “IN8” on the EB8E4A. These inputs have to be distinguished from
the simulated inputs, which are named “IN1” to “IN3” in CCT 800.
The virtual outputs, which are named “A1” to “A4” in CCT 800, correspond with the physical screw ter-
minals, which are labelled “OUT1” to “OUT4” on the EB8E4A.
