8. Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible cause
Solution
At the start the pump is
running but not pumping
water into the pool.

Air trapped inside suction hose.
▪
Pump is not placed at ground level of
the pool.
▪
No water passing through hoses.
▪
Pump must be located at ground level, below the water
line.
▪
Prime the hoses.
The pressure gauge shows
a pressure exceeding 1.0
bar.
▪
Dirty filter sand.
▪
Carry out a backwash.
Pressure is too low.
▪
Hose/skimmer/valve can be blocked
by leaves or debris.
▪
Clean hose, skimmer, and valve.
▪
Check hose connections for air.
Water escapes from
backwash valve.
▪
Gasket around the valve is dirty.
▪
Grit in the gasket.
▪
Remove the valve and clean the gasket.
Leaking filter connection
(between filter and top
valve).
▪
Damaged gasket or sand.
▪
Inspect the gasket and replace if necessary.
The pump is not running.
▪
Filter pump is deactivated by filter
timer or filter control.
▪
Plug is not connected.
▪
The HFI device turns the pump off.
▪
Damaged pump motor.
▪
Check the settings.
▪
Connect the plug.
▪
Turn on the HFI device. If it immediately turns itself off
again the pump of the HFI device is damaged.
▪
Replace the pump.
Sand in the pool.
▪
If the filter sand is new, there may be
small grains which are washed out of
the filter tank.
▪
Carry out repeated backwash until the backwash
return water is completely clear.
