By installing a bypass (not included) you can choose whether the pool water will flow through the solar heater,
or directly from the pump back to the pool. To prevent the pool from cooling down, the water should only flow
through the solar heater on sunny days. If you allow water to flow through the solar heater at night, for
example, the water will cool down.
A bypass is essential if the flow rate of the pump is too high (more than 7.500 l/u
– 1,900 gal/hr). When the
water pressure inside the solar heater becomes too high, it can cause damages. A bypass allows only a
portion of the water flow to enter the solar heater, which will lower the water pressure.
If you want to connect certain accessories to the filter/pump, such as a pool vacuum, you will need a bypass. In
addition, a bypass kit is required for an installation of 3 of more solar heaters.
Initial Operation
Before turning on your pump, make sure all hose connections are secured and hoses are not kinked or bent at
severe angle before operation. Make sure to unblock pool water outlet and inlet to let water flows into the
hoses.
Tip:
-
It is recommended to place a pool solar cover on at night to prevent heat loss.
