Manuale d'Uso e Installazione per ESC - Rev.D (ITA-ENG)
5/8
1.
FIELD
OF
APPLICATION
AND
USE
The
following
operating
instructions
apply
to
the
Electronic
Speed
Control
from
COMEX
EUROPE
S.r.l..
The
electronic
speed
in
question,
hereafter
called
ESC,
can
be
used
only
for
its
intended
use
and
indicated
in
this
Manual
of
Use,
or
rather
the
regulation
of
the
speed
of
the
rotation
of
Electric
fans
manufactured
by
Comex
Europe
S.r.l.
and
applied
on
vehicles
with
electric
DC
current,
with
power
supply
voltage
within
the
field
of
work
anticipated
for
the
ESC.
ny
use
for
other
purposes
is
therefore
considered
inappropriate.
Proper
usage
also
entails
compliance
with
all
related
documentation.
It
is
not
permitted
to
make
changes
or
transformations.
The
ESC
allows
you
to
pass,
from
classical
management
of
the
electric
fans
on
/
off,
to
a
smart
management
with
variable
speed
according
to
the
real
needs
of
heat
exchange
of
the
vehicle
or
of
the
system.
One
of
the
main
features
is
the
function
SOFT
‐
START
that
allows
the
product
to
start
the
rotation
with
an
acceleration
ramp
and
then
reach
the
speed
of
rotation
proportional
to
the
temperature.
SOFT
START
function
eliminates
the
problem
of
peak
current
at
start.
The
speed
of
rotation
of
the
electric
fan
is
totally
managed
by
the
ESC,
which
according
to
the
signal
received
is
able
to
increase
or
decrease
the
rpm.
(Except
for
version
with
signal
from
Thermostat)
An
intelligent
management
of
the
electric
fan
speed
allows
for
a
smoother
and
more
gradual
trend
of
the
temperature
in
the
system
to
avoid
unnecessary
heat
stress.
Among
the
various
options
of
the
ESC
it
is
to
report
the
possibility
to
manage
the
Reverse
of
rotation
of
the
electric
fan
and
in
so
doing
to
keep
clean
the
surface
of
the
radiator,
this
function
is
particularly
useful
for
all
those
applications
that
operate
in
work
environments
with
possibility
of
accumulation
of
material
on
the
opposite
side
of
the
radiator
(for
example,
leaves
and
straw)
causing
a
reduction
of
the
air
passage
through
the
radiator.
The
reverse
rotation
function
is
able
also
to
maintain
unaltered
the
thermal
exchange
capacity
of
the
radiator
and
of
the
electric
fan.
Versions
available
of
ESC:
ESC–SR
=
Electronic
Speed
Control
with
Standard
Rotation
ESC–RR1
=
Electronic
Speed
Control
with
Reverse
Rotation
type_1
‐
The
reverse
rotation
starts
only
when
the
electric
fan
stops
the
rotation
according
to
the
temperature
set
ESC–RR2
=
Electronic
Speed
Control
with
Reverse
Rotation
type_2
‐
The
reverse
rotation
starts
automatically
(even
if
the
temperature
is
still
high)
with
a
cycle
time
set
in
the
software
of
the
electronic
speed
control.
Example:
10
min.
in
Standard
Rotation
+
30
sec.
in
Reverse
Rotation.
Please
Note
:
In
order
to
avoid
damage
to
the
mechanical
parts
in
motion,
for
each
Reverse
Cycle
are
planned
ramps
of
deceleration
and
acceleration
and
at
each
change
of
direction
of
rotation
of
the
blade
is
expected
a
period
of
complete
stop
of
the
blade.

GENERAL
WARNINGS
The
ESC
is
a
component
source
of
risks
mainly
of
electrical
origin,
therefore,
if
used
improperly,
it
can
create
dangerous
conditions
and
cause
harm
to
people,
animals
and
things.
Please
read
carefully
the
following
instructions
before
its
connection;
each
operation
of
installation
and
commissioning,
should
be
performed
by
qualified
personnel
in
compliance
with
all
applicable
laws.
Please
note
that
this
documentation
complements
and
does
not
replace
any
laws
or
regulations
or
technical
safety
requirements.
SIt
declines
all
responsibility
for
improper
use
and
failure
to
observe
the
safety
directives
in
force
concerning
electrical
material.
3.
