The coil factor is the ratio between the magnetic field generated by an
inductive coil and the corresponding current value.
In order to determine the coil factor for any antenna, the magnitude of
the field at the center of the coil must be measured using a suitable
magnetic field meter while monitoring the current through the coil. The
measured field (in A/m) divided by the coil current (in amperes) is the coil
factor.
The APF-5060 Magnetic Field Generator, along with a suitable magnetic
field meter are used to determine the coil factor according to the
following procedure:
