Distorted Start of Scan
Colourmatch
6. A distorted image at the beginning of a scan,
or at the point where the scanner has stopped
and started during a scan, is down to the
Motor Drive Pulley being loose on the motor,
or the main timing belt being loose.
See service manual procedures.
7. Colour differences between 2 CIS can be
down to the scanner needing normalisation,
or the glass or paper hold down roller not
seating properly over the CIS, make sure
there is correct and even gap between the
paper hold down rollers and glass. Some
times the colour imbalance can be down to
the tolerance between 2 CIS, which is
common in all CIS scanners.
8. Some times image problems, particually if the image looks currupt and completely unrecognisable,
can be solved by resetting the scanner. Use the "Reset Flash to Factory" in the passworded area
of the utilities program to do this, making sure you record the motor speed and stitch values before
running this process, and re-insert them again afterwards. Normalisation completes the process.
