The sensor can also be configured to use the I/O Expansion Module by opening the Discrete
Input dialog and following steps 4 - 6, as described above.
Once the I/O Expansion Module is selected in either the Discrete Input or Discrete Output
dialogs, it is automatically enabled for both inputs and outputs, and hardware handshaking may
be used in serial communications.
B.1.2 Enabling Hardware Handshaking
1. Physically connect the I/O Expansion Module to the In-Sight sensor, as described in the
applicable I/O Expansion Module Installation manual.
2. Open the In-Sight Explorer program and log on to the sensor.
3. From the Sensor menu (Figure B-3), select the Serial Settings submenu. Select Port 1.
