Note:
The oil could be hot if the generator has been used recently.

5. Add new oil to the engine crankcase (SAE 10W-30).
6. Check the oil level.
7. Screw the oil filler cap back on.
Spark plug maintenance
1. Switch the generator off and let it cool.
2. Disconnect the spark plug cap from the spark plug (this is easier if you wiggle it a little as you pull it).
Note:
Do not pull on the cable, hold the spark plug cap.
3. Use the supplied spark plug wrench to unscrew the spark plug.
4. Clean the electrodes and check that the electrode gap is 0.028–0.031 inch (0.7–0.8 mm). Suitable gap
measuring tools are sold separately. Screw the spark plug back into place and reconnect the spark plug cap.
Fuel filter
The fuel tank has a filter fitted to its filler hole. Regular checks should be made to ensure that the filter is clean
and in good condition. The filter prevents impurities from entering the fuel tank and the fuel system. Always
clean the area around the fuel filler cap before removing it and make sure that the fuel you use is clean and
contaminant-free.
