use and save it for future reference. We reserve

Safety

•  The mains lead should be checked regularly. 

Never use the product if the mains lead or plug 
is damaged.

•  The power lead must be changed if damaged. 

This is to prevent the risk of electric shock 
or fire and should only be carried out by 
the manufacturer, qualified service facility or 
qualified technician.

WARNING – FIRE HAZARD!

The tool can become a fire hazard if used improperly.
Please take the following into consideration:
•  Be careful when using the tool in the vicinity of 

flammable materials.

•  Do not hold the tool on the joint for 

a long time.

•  Never use the tool in an explosive atmosphere.
•  Heat can spread and ignite flammable 

materials which are not within sight.

•  Let the tool cool sufficiently before putting it 

away for storage.

•  Never leave the tool unattended.
•  Never expose the tool to rain or moisture.

Operation

1.  First check that the soldering iron’s rated 

voltage conforms to your mains voltage.

2.  Check that the tip of the soldering iron 

is securely fastened and that the screws 
are tight.

3.  Plug the power lead into a wall socket.
4.  Check that the tip’s contact surfaces are clean 

and undamaged.

5.  “Tin” the tip by heating it and covering it in solder.
6.  Use the soldering iron to heat up the soldering 

surfaces, not the solder.

7.  Apply a sufficient amount of solder to the joint 

and then let the joint cool off.

8.  Clean the tip with a wet sponge while it is  

still warm.

9.  Disconnect the soldering iron and let it  

cool down.
