18. DEPTH SOUNDER -
To see your options -
shallow, deep, keel depth and units - toggle the top
switch to down position. To set each option to
desired reading toggle switch to up position. For
detailed instructions, refer to the information
included in your owner’s packet or consult your
Cobalt dealer.
19. TRIM (Trim Gauge) -
This gauge indicates the
angle position of the engines’ outdrive relative to
the position of the bow, up or down when boat is on
plane. Use this gauge in combination with the trim
switches located in the throttle control.
20. STEREO REMOTE CONTROL -
(standard on
dash, transom mount, optional) - This panel
provides remote control of the stereo system from
the helm.
Remote Control(s)
Your Cobalt boat is equipped with a safety switch
for “start-in neutral-only” operation. The shift
lever(s) must be in the NEUTRAL position before
attempting to start the engine(s).
The following information relates to the general
description about your controls. Refer to the engine
operator’s manual or the control operator’s manual
for specific use.
21. SHIFT/THROTTLE LEVER -
The left lever is
the shift lever and the right lever is the throttle lever.
The shift has three positions FORWARD (forward),
NEUTRAL (center) and REVERSE (back). A detent
will hold it in the selected position. The throttle
increases when pushed forward and decreases
when pulled back. Always start the engine with the
throttle lever in its furthest position back (idle).
22. DRIVE UNIT TRIM SWITCH -
Drive Unit Trim
Switch controls the trim angle of the drive unit. This
switch will maximize the performance and ride of
the boat. If combined with the optional trim tabs,
more enhancement to performance and ride can be
achieved.
HOUR METER -
An hour
meter for each engine is
located in the engine
compartment. The hour
meter accumulates the
operating hours of the
engine.
A
DANGER
Avoid injury or death. Make sure all
shift/throttle hardware and cables are
regularly inspected and maintained.
Improper maintained controls are
hazardous and may cause sudden loss
of control.
NOTICE: Do not use the shift
levers when the engines are not
running. Do not shift too quickly
from forward to reverse.
Damage to the engine(s) and
transmission can result. When
shifting from forward to reverse,
pause in the NEUTRAL position
until the engine(s) are at idle
speed and the boat has slowed.
When shifting from neutral to
forward or reverse, shift briskly
and decisively.
