GPS Operation –
The GPS inside the MTR Receiver/Display and GPS
in the WEATHERPAK
®
work together and provide data to SmartDetect ™
firmware, which in turn furnishes direction and distance information for
additional WEATHERPAK
®
MTRs operating in the vicinity.
Typically the GPS receiver needs 3-4 satellites in range to receive an
accurate location. Occasionally, the receiver only “sees” satellites it is not
familiar with. If this occurs it may need to download additional information
from the satellites which can take up to 15 minutes. This initialization
process should not be interrupted.
