e) Maintenance of electrical hand tools.
Check if something is incorrectly set, if
movable parts are getting jammed, or parts are broken or something else that
might cause the electrical hand tool to malfunction. If something is damaged it
must be repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained
electrical hand tools.
f) Keep the tools sharp and clean.
Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp
blades are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
g) Use the electrical hand tool, accessories and such according to the
instructions and in a way suitable for the type of electrical hand tool
used.
Using the electrical hand tool for work other than that for which it is
intended could result in a dangerous situation.
5) Service
a) Repairs and service should only be performed by qualified persons, and
only with original spare parts.
This guarantees the safety of the electrical
hand tool.
Safety Instructions for Jig saw EN 60745-2-11
Caution:
Always unplug the main electric line before adjustment, service, or main-
tenance of the machine.
1. If the main electric cord is damaged, it may only be replaced by a retailer.
2. Keep your hands away from the blade and other movable parts. Do not reach
under the material being sawed. The blade or your hand may be out of sight.
3. Never hold a hand or a finger between the pendulum arm and the gear casing.
There is a risk that they will get caught in the machine.
4. Do not saw in walls or elsewhere where there may be hidden electric cables.
If you still have to saw: Remove all fuses and turn off all power switches that
may connect to the electric cables. Only touch the plastic parts of the jig saw.
Do not touch any metal part when the jig saw is used on an area where there
may be hidden electric cables.
5. Do not use dull or damaged saw blades. Bent saw blades can easily break or
cause kick-backs.
6. Start the motor and allow it to rev up before sawing.
7. Attach smaller work pieces with clamps, screw clamp, etc. before beginning to
saw. Otherwise, if it bends or begins to vibrate, you may lose control of the tool.
8. Make sure that the settings are correct and that the blade is locked firmly in
place before beginning to saw.
