G. CARTRIDGE FILTER ELEMENT
CLEANING
1. Shut off pump. Ensure pump is locked out and cannot be operated.
2. Ensure ball valves are closed.
3. Open air relief valve (3 turns counter clockwise) and allow pressure to vent.

WARNING
Exercise caution when opening filter cover. Contents may be under pressure.
Verify that pressure reads “0” psi before proceeding.
4. Drain filter body by removing drain plug at the base of the filter.
5. Unscrew locking ring counter clockwise that holds cover in place.
6. Remove cover and filter element.
7. Remove any debris that has collected from the bottom of the filter body.
8. Clean or replace filter element in filter body.
9. Re-install cartridge filter element in filter body.
10. Repeat “Startup Procedures.”
1. This CMP Water Feature Filter is not designed to be the main source of filtration.
2. The pressure gauge is the primary indicator as to how the filter is functioning. Maintain the pressure
gauge in good working order and replace if necessary.

1. Filter element can be cleaned by rinsing the inside and out with a garden hose.
a. Do not use a pressure washer as excessive pressure may cause damage to the filter element.
2. Allow filter to dry and brush pleated surfaces to remove small particles using Cartridge Filter Clean-
ing Tool (25300-009-000 sold separately).
3. For a more thorough cleaning (to remove algae, oils, and minerals), soak cartridge in a filter element
cleaner. You can purchase a variety of different brands at your local pool dealer.
a. Rinse thoroughly before re-installing the filter in the filter body.
