KEY SWITCH
See General Warning on page 1-2.
TESTING THE KEY SWITCH
See Test Procedure 4 – Key Switch (Starter Circuit) on page 11-17.
KEY SWITCH REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery and spark plug wire(s). See Disconnecting the Battery – Gasoline Vehicles on page 1-4.
2. Raise the hood and remove the access panel.
3. From under the hood, remove the multi-pin connector from the key switch (4) (Figure 12-7, Page 12-5) .
4. Reach under the instrument panel to hold the key switch and remove the key switch nut (5). Pull the key switch,
with spacer (6), from the back side of the instrument panel.
KEY SWITCH INSTALLATION
1. Place spacer (6) on key switch (4) and reverse the removal procedure to install switch in the instrument panel
(Figure 12-7, Page 12-5) . Tighten the key switch nut (5) firmly.
2. From under the hood, connect the multi-pin connector to the key switch.
3. Install the access panel and lower and secure the hood.
4. Connect battery and spark plug wire(s). See Connecting the Battery – Gasoline Vehicles on page 1-4.
LIGHT SWITCH

LIGHT SWITCH REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery and spark plug wire(s). See Disconnecting the Battery – Gasoline Vehicles on page 1-4.
2. Raise the hood and remove the access panel.
3. Press the upper and lower retaining tabs and push the light switch (7) out of the instrument panel (Figure
12-7, Page 12-5) .
4. Disconnect the wire harness from the light switch.
