CHOKE
The choke is located on the seat support panel (Figure 11 and Figure 12, Page 21).
• Four-Passenger Villager Vehicle: If the vehicle is hard to start in cool or cold temperatures, activate
the choke by depressing the choke cover (Figure 11, Page 21). Hold choke cover in during start up
and release it after the engine starts and runs smoothly.
• TransPorter and Six and Eight-Passenger Villager Vehicles: Activate the choke by pulling out the
choke cable (Figure 12, Page 21). Hold choke cable out during start up and release it after the engine
starts and runs smoothly.
• WITH THE CAM IN THE SERVICE POSITION AND THE ENGINE RUNNING, THE VEHICLE MAY
MOVE SUDDENLY IF THE FORWARD/REVERSE HANDLE IS SHIFTED OR ACCIDENTALLY
BUMPED. TO PREVENT THIS, CHOCK THE FRONT AND REAR WHEELS AND ALWAYS FIRMLY
SET THE PARK BRAKE BEFORE SERVICING OR LEAVING THE VEHICLE.
• PEDAL-START VEHICLE: BE SURE TO RETURN THE CAM TO THE OPERATE POSITION
AFTER SERVICING THE VEHICLE, OR THE VEHICLE WILL NOT RUN WHEN THE FORWARD/
REVERSE HANDLE IS IN EITHER THE FORWARD OR REVERSE POSITION.
• KEY-START VEHICLE: BE SURE TO RETURN THE CAM TO THE OPERATE POSITION AFTER
SERVICING THE VEHICLE, OR IT WILL STOP RUNNING WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS
DEPRESSED AND THE FORWARD/REVERSE HANDLE IS IN EITHER FORWARD OR REVERSE.
