USB 2.0 compatible ports (USB 2.0 is fully USB 1.1 compliant) are for low-speed peripherals
such as keyboards, mice or scanners, and for high-speed peripherals such as external HDDs,
digital video cameras or high-speed scanners etc. Devices can be plugged into the computer, and
unplugged from the computer, without the need to turn the system off (if the power rating of your
USB device is 500mA or above, make sure you use the power supply which comes with the
device).
USB 3.0 ports capable of 5Gbps (SuperSpeed) are classified as
USB 3.1 Gen 1
and
USB 3.1
Gen 2
ports are capable of 10Gbps Sup.
There is
one USB 2.0 port
,
two USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type A)
ports and
one USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type
C)
port (the Type C port is the smaller sized USB port).
One
USB 3.1 Gen 2 port (Type A) and
one
USB 3.1 Gen 2 port (Type C
) are available as a
factory option.
These ports are shared with the existing USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type A and Type C
ports,
and are capable of 10Gbps Sup for a single device, or if two devices are
plugged in to both USB 3.1 (Gen 2) ports, the bandwidth will be shared between the ports
.
Note:
The maximum amount of current supplied by USB Type-C ports is 500 mA for USB2.0/900
mA for USB 3.1
