GREENHOUSES
Revision date: 04.13.11
In this photo, the top of the panel is removed using a
power tool equipped with a round cutting bit. A utility
knife can also be used. (The greenhouse in this photo
is used for illustration only. It is of a different model.)
Using the 4' x 12' panel
6.
, cut a rectangular piece
to cover the area above the door. Measure from
the center of one frame tube to the center of the
other to determine the required width. Consult the
Polycarbonate Panel diagrams in the Quick Start
section.
Cut the width of the panel
7.
approximately 1-1/8"
shorter
than the actual measurement to allow for the
installation of the aluminum H-channel used to connect
two separate panels.
After cutting the panel to the proper width, measure
8.
and cut two sections of H-Channel to the correct length.
This H-Channel is used to join two separate panels.
With the panel secured in place, cut it to the proper
5.
size using the rafter as a guide.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT
damage the part of the
polycarbonate section removed during the cutting of
the panel. That portion will be used to cover the small
area above the door.
NOTE:
The panel is cut to the proper height after it is
attached to the end wall frame.
Cut the H-Channel to a length that will allow for the
installation of the final piece of
aluminum U-Channel
,
which is installed at the top of all end panels
after
the
panels are cut to the proper height.
The H-Channel must not interfere with cutting the panel
to the correct height.
With the panel
9.
cut to the proper width
and the two
sections of H-Channel cut to the proper length, install
one length of H-Channel on each edge of the panel.
NOTE:
The channel must be flush with the
bottom of
the panel.
With the H-Channel in place on the small panel and
10.
flush with the bottom of the panel and cut a section of
End Cap profile to fit between the H-Channel.
END PANEL INSTALLATION (continued)
Remove this end
of the panel.
Diagram shows the H-Channel (Step 9), which is used
between panels, and the End Cap (Step 10), which is
used to finish the
lower edge of the small panel only.

End Cap
Install the End Cap profile on the bottom of the small

panel. End Cap will overlap the top of the door frame
of the door.
Using short Tek screws (no washers), secure the panel
12.
in place above the door by installing a screw through
the center of the H-Channel and into the vertical frame
member.
NOTE:
The H-Channel must be below the top of the
rafter and short enough to allow for the installation of
the final piece of aluminum profile. Remove the panel
and cut the H-Channel if necessary and reinstall the
panel.
With the center panel secured in place, cut it to the
13.
proper size using the rafter as a guide.
