Charging Up the Battery
NOTE!

Risk of short-circuits!
Do not insert any conducting objects (e.g. screwdrivers or
similar items) into the charging socket.
■
The battery may only be charged using the mains adapter which is supplied with the
device. Do not use the mains adapter to charge up other batteries.
■
Pull the mains adapter out of the plug socket if it is not going to be used for a lengthy
period of time.
■
It is essential that you charge up the battery fully before you
fi
rst use the device
in order to achieve the maximum charging capacity. The
fi
rst charge will last
for 10 – 12 hours.
1. Open the closure (

) on the handle (

) and connect the
mains adapter to the charging socket (

) and then plug it
into a properly installed, easily accessible plug socket. The
charge control lamp (

) lights up.
2. Allow the battery of the device to charge up for approx.
10 – 12 hours on the
fi
rst charge and then for approx.
5 hours. The charge control lamp (
A
) goes out when the
battery is fully charged.
3. Disconnect the mains adapter from the mains power and then from the device.
4. Seal the closure (

) again.
Assembly
• Plug the handle (

) into the main unit (

). It must click audibly into place.
• If
the
extension rod

is to be used, plug it into the main unit (

) and then plug the
handle (

) onto the extension rod (

). Both parts must be heard to engage in one
another.
• To remove the extension rod (

) or the handle (

), press the release button on the
handle (

) and pull it off. In addition, press the release button on the extension rod (

and pull it out of the main unit (
