Transport Safety Device, CD Compartment
Open the CD compartment by pressing the OPEN button. Before operating the
machine for the first time, remove the transport safety device from the CD player if it
is still in place.
Switching off
The machine is switched off if the FUNCTION switch (23) is turned to the TAPE
position and all tape functions are switched off. Then remove the mains lead.
Listening to the Radio
1. Turn the function selector switch (23) to the RADIO position.
2. With the band selector switch (20) you can select the desired frequency band.
UKW (stereo) = FM stereo / UKW = FM / Medium Wave = AM (mono).
3. Tune into the desired radio station with the TUNING button (18).
4. The stereo control lamp (21) only lights up if you have selected FM stereo and
are receiving the station in stereo quality. If reception is too weak and there is
interference, it is possible that the stereo control lamp will not light up. Try to
improve reception by turning, bending and altering the length of the aerial. If it is
not possible to improve reception, it is advisable to switch to FM mono.
5. Proceed in a similar manner if you wish to receive MW/AM stations. On this fre-
quency band all programmes are transmitted only in "mono".
Listening to Cassettes
Playing Cassettes
1. Push the function selector switch (23) to the TAPE position.
2. Press the STOP/EJECT button (16) in order to open the cassette compartment.
3. Insert an audiocassette into the compartment with the tape facing forwards and
the side you wish to listen to facing forwards (full reel on the left).
4. Press the PLAY button (13) in order to listen to the tape.
5. Playback can be stopped by pressing the STOP/EJECT button (16).
6. If necessary, wind the tape forwards or backwards by pressing the buttons.
F.FWD = forwards; REW = reverse (26/27).
When switching from one function to another, or in order to stop the cassette,
always press the STOP/EJECT button (16). This will prevent mechanical dama-
ge to the machine or the tape.
7. Pressing the STOP/EJECT (16) button again opens the door of the cassette
compartment.
8. In order to interrupt playback for a short time, press the PAUSE button (17).
Press the PAUSE button for a second time in order to continue playback.
