Before initial use
1. Clean the grill plates as described under “Cleaning”.
2. Close the contact grill. Install the grease dripping tray (6) at
the front of the device.
3. Operate the appliance with the closed grill plates for about
10 minutes without any food (see “Operation”). To do so,
set the temperature control to the
MAX
position.
NOTE:
This process normally produces a small amount of
smoke. Ensure adequate ventilation.
4. Disconnect the mains plug from the wall socket.
5. Let the appliance cool down completely.
6. Wipe the grill surfaces with a damp cloth.
Your appliance is now ready to use.
Operation
Choose whether you want to work with a closed contact grill or
with a folded open table grill.
Use as a contact grill
1. Connect the mains plug to the wall socket. Both control
lamps will light up.
2. Set the temperature regulator to the
MAX
position. The
appliance is being heated up.
NOTE:
• The heating time is about 5 minutes.
• Once the pre-set temperature has been reached,
the green indicator lamp goes out. It turns on and off
during operation. This is normal and shows that the
temperature is thermostat-controlled and maintained.
3. Open the appliance with the handle. Position the top grill
plate vertically.
4. Place the food onto the bottom grill plate.
5. Slowly close the top grill plate. You do not have to flip the
food.
6. When your food is ready according to your taste, open the
device with the handle.
WARNING: Risk of scalding!
Hot steam will escape.
7. Remove the grilled food with a spatula or a turner made
from wood or Teflon.
Use as a table grill
CAUTION:
Run the power cord along the side beneath the appliance, so
that it does not come into contact with the hot top grill plate.
1. Slide the release button in the direction of the arrow while
folding back the top grill plate using the handle.
2. Operate the appliance as previously described (without
points 3, 5, and 6).
3. Prepare your dishes like on any other grill. Turn over the
food as required.

The core temperature of the food will indicate when it is done.
We recommend the use of a roasting thermometer. The
core temperature of the meat can be monitored with it. You
therefore do not need to cut open the food.
