7.3 Audio Setup
Audio settings using a surround sound amplifier.
• For the front speakers, surround sound speakers and centre speaker the following settings may be selected:
o
Large:
For speakers with a frequency range below 200 Hz (larger speakers).
o
Small:
For speakers with a frequency range over 200 Hz (smaller speakers).
o
None:
No audio activated.
o
N.B.
If the connected speakers are capable of frequencies lower than 200 Hz the
Large
setting
should be chosen.
•
Bass Management
Allows bass to be sent to the front speakers (ON setting), (if no subwoofer is connected).
N.B.
Bass Management is deactivated when MP3 or WMA files are played.
•
Front Speakers
Changes settings for the front speakers. Select
Large
or
Small
depending on the type of speakers connected.
•
Centre Speaker
Changes settings for the centre speaker. Select
Large
or
Small
depending on the type of speakers connected.
•
Subwoofer (bass speaker)
Selected if a subwoofer is connected:
o
PRESENT:
Bass is sent out through the amplifier’s subwoofer output.
o
OFF:
Bass is sent out through the front speakers.
•
Surround Speakers
(surround sound speakers)
Changes settings for the surround sound speakers. Select according to the type of speakers connected.
•
Test Tones
Activates a test signal for each respective speaker channel simplifying audio setting selections.
•
Centre Delay
Delays audio to the centre speaker.
•
Surr. Delay
Delays audio to the surround sound speakers.
•
Digital Output
Changes settings for the SPDIF output (coaxial).
o
OFF:
Output activated.
o
PCM:
Selected when only stereo is used. If this setting is used the “Lower sampling rate” should also
be activated in the Down Sampling menu.
o
All:
Selected if a 5.1 amplifier is connected to the DVD player’s digital output.
•
Down Sampling
Select the ON setting if ”PCM” is selected as described in the Digital Output step described above.
o
ON:
“Lower sampling rate” activated.
o
OFF:
“Lower sampling rate” deactivated.
