Before initial use
Before using the kettle, you should boil two kettles of water in it in order to rinse it of
any residue. Never boil water in the kettle when it is mixed with washing-up liquid or
other detergents.
Instructions for use
1. Open the lid (2) by pressing the lid release button (3).
2. Fill the kettle with cold water, making sure that the water level is between the min
and max markings on the water level gauge.
3. Close the lid.
4. Plug the mains lead into an earthed wall socket.
5. Place the kettle on the base (7) and turn it on by pressing the On/Off switch (6).
The light in the switch will come on.
The kettle turns off automatically and the indicator light goes out once the water has
boiled. The switch will return to its original position.
Warning:
Never turn the kettle on when it is empty.
Boil-dry protection
If you should turn on the kettle while it is empty the boil-dry protection function will be
activated and automatically turn off the kettle. Let the kettle cool before attempting to
use it again.
Care and maintenance
• Always unplug the lead from the power point and let the kettle cool down properly
before cleaning.
• The housing should be cleaned using a damp cloth. Use only mild cleaning agents,
never solvents or corrosive chemicals.
• Unplug the lead from the power point and store the kettle in a dry, dust-free
environment out of the reach of children whenever it is not to be used for
an extended period.
Warning:
Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquid.
