Getting Started
Mains connection
Connect the mains lead to the power input on the back of the player (29) and then connect
the plug to a power point.
Inserting the batteries
1. Remove the battery cover by sliding it backwards in the direction of the arrows.
2. Insert 8 x LR14/C batteries. Make sure to insert the batteries according to the polarity
markings beside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery cover.
N.B.
• When the player is run on batteries the power lead should not be used.
• Remove the batteries if the product is not to be used for a longer period of time.
The batteries can begin to leak and damage the device or cause personal injury.
Inserting the remote control’s batteries
1. Remove the battery cover by sliding it backwards in the direction of the arrows.
2. Insert 2 x LR03/AAA-batteries. Insert the batteries correctly according to the polarity
markings inside the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery cover.
Operating Instructions
Listening to the radio
1. Move the function switch (7) to the
RADIO
position. The indicator (17) should be lit.
2. Choose the desired radio band with the switch (12).
3. Set desired frequency with the tuning knob [14].
4. Lift up and extend the telescopic aerial to fine tune FM reception. For AM reception the
built-in aerial is used.
5. Adjust the volume with the volume control (15).
6. To turn off the radio, turn the function switch to the
OFF
position.
N.B.
• When the band switch is in FM ST mode, and there is stereo reception the stereo
indicator will be lit (11).
• If the reception is unsatisfactory try the regular FM (mono) setting.
How to get the best reception
For FM:
Pull out and adjust the telescopic aerial for the best possible reception.
For AM:
The stereo is equipped with a built-in aerial. The telescopic aerial is not used for
AM reception. Direct the aerial by positioning the entire stereo.
