• When measuring the temperature of polished or reflective
surfaces (steel, aluminium etc) they should be masked
or painted black beforehand. Give the tape or paint
the time to reach the temperature of the object being
measured.
Measure the masked or painted surface.
• The object being measured must be larger than the spot
size of the thermometer. Refer to the markings on
the side of the thermometer:
The picture shows that for example if you hold
the thermometer at a distance of 90 mm from the object,
the spot size (measuring area) is 90 mm (1:1).
