Specific Safety Requirements for Hammer Drills
• Ear defenders should be worn when using a hammer drill. Exposure to high levels
of noise can cause hearing impairment.
• Use the supplied side handle when using the hammer drill. Losing control of
the hammer drill could result in personal injury.
• Hold the hammer drill by its insulated gripping surfaces when performing
an operation where the cutting accessory may contact hidden wiring or the mains
lead of the drill itself. Cutting accessories which contact “live” wires may make
exposed metal parts of the hammer drill “live” and could give the operator
an electric shock.
