Slide the claws of the tool between the
head of the brake cable and the spring.
Close the handles to lock them, thereby
allowing the brake shoe to be
manouvered off the cable.

Before operating on the
hydraulic system, where
hydraulic lines are opened,
clamp the flexible hose as
near as possible to the
union with the back plate.
With the shoes removed, ensure the
pistons are maintained in place by
clamping them as shown.

Shoe Retaining Pin, Cap Remover

Push the tool fir mly on to the Spring
Retaining Plate, then turn through 90
degrees before releasing pressure.
Remove the plate and spring followed by
the retaining pin from behind the back
plate.
Remove the dust proof cover at the back
plate, and insert the tool into the hole,
engaging with the serrations of the adjuster.
Lever the tool to turn the adjuster.
