6. OPERATIONS

Basic Operations

Note:

•  Be sure to read this chapter referring to the 

chapter “3. CONTROLS”

CAUTION

When the unit is turned on, starting and 

stopping the engine with its volume raised to 

the maximum level may harm your hearings. 

Be careful about adjusting the volume.

Power on / o

 

Note:

•  Start the engine before using this unit.

•  Be careful about using this unit for a long 

time without running the engine. If you drain 

the car’s battery too far, you may not be able 

to start the engine and this can reduce the 

service life of the battery.

1.  Start the engine. The power button / knob 

illumination on the unit will light up.

2.  Press any key on the front panel or the 

[

POWER

] key on the remote control to turn on 

the power under standby mode. The unit goes 

back to the last status after power on.

3.  Press and hold the [

SRC

] key on the front 

panel or press the [

POWER

] key on the re-

mote control to turn o

  the power under work 

mode.

CT (Clock Time) display

•  The displayed clock data is based on the CT 

(clock time) data in the RDS signal, or the 

GPS data when the Navigation system is con-

nected.

•  When the CT data cannot be received, “--:--” 

appears in the display.

Opening the TFT Monitor and 

Adjusting the Angle

•  To prevent the battery from going dead, operate 

this unit with the engine running if possible.

•  When the TFT monitor is operating, be careful 

not to get your hand or 

fi

 nger caught between 

the TFT monitor and main unit or the instrument 

panel of the car.

•  Do not move the TFT monitor by hand.

WARNING

Standing up the front panel

Press the [

OPEN/CLOSE

] button. The TFT moni-

tor comes out and stands up automatically.

Adjusting the angle of the TFT monitor

The angle of the TFT monitor can be adjusted 

depending on the mounting angle of the unit or 

light coming into the car.

1.  Turn the power on. When the TFT monitor is 

closed, press the [

OPEN/CLOSE

] button.

2.  Repeat pressing the [

Tilt-

] / [

Tilt+

] key to 

adjust the angle of the TFT monitor. Every 

pressing the [

Tilt-

] / [

Tilt+

] key tilts the TFT 

monitor forward or backward. 

  •   Adjustment is possible within the range 70° 

to 110°.

  •   There are 8 adjustable angles available.

3.  Press and hold the [

Tilt-

] / [

Tilt+

] key on the 

display panel or the remote control to adjust 

the tilt angle continuously.

Note:

•  If the TFT monitor stops in the middle of its 

operation, press the [

OPEN/CLOSE

] button 

to house the panel and press the button again 

to raise it. The unit will enter the same display 

mode as the display was in when last turned 

o

 .

Housing the TFT monitor

1.  Press the [

OPEN/CLOSE

] button. The TFT 

monitor is housed automatically. 

Note:

•  When leaving this unit unused for a long 

period of time or leaving your car, be sure to 

house the TFT monitor.

Mute

Press the [

MUTE

] key on the front panel or re-

mote control to mute the volume from the unit.

Notes:

1.  Doing the operation above again or adjusting 

volume will release muting.

2.  Mute icon winks on the TFT during muting.

Volume adjustment

Turn the volume knob on the front panel or press 

the [

VOL

] key on the remote control.

The adjustable range of volume is 0 to 40.

CAUTION

While driving, keep the volume level at which 

external sounds can be heard.

Open SOURCE MENU

Press the [

SRC

] key on the front panel or remote 

control or touch the top left corner of the screen 

to open the SOURCE MENU. 

Do the above operation again to return to the 

original source.

Playing source selection

Open the SOURCE MENU, and then touch the 

source you desired or select one source by mov-

ing the cursor and then con

fi

 rm.

Notes:

1.  Playing source selection means selecting 

work mode, such as DVD mode, Radio mode, 

Camera mode, etc.

2.  When some devices are not ready, they can-

not be selected. 

Display system time

Press and hold the [

DISP

] key on the remote 

control to switch the display information between 

system time and playing source when the TFT 

monitor is closed.

Change aspect ratio

Press the [

WIDE

] key on the display panel or 

remote control to adjust the aspect ratio.

Image setting

(1)  Enter image setting mode

 

Press the [

PIC

] key on the remote control.

(2)  Select one item to adjust 

 

Press the [ 

]/[

 ] keys on the remote 

control.

(3)  Adjust the value

 

Press the [ 

 ]/[ 

 ] keys on the remote 

control.

(4)  Exit image setting mode

 

To exit image setting mode, repeat the 

fi

 rst 

step or stop operation for some seconds. 

Reset the unit

If the unit can not work correctly, you should reset 

the unit by pressing the [

RESET

] button on the 

front panel.
