Installing the Switch
Rack-Mounting the Switch
Use six 10-32 x 3/4-inch or 12-24 x 3/4-inch Phillips machine screws to attach the L brackets to the
rack. (See
Figure 5
.)

Desktop-Mounting (Optional)
If you are installing the ME 6524 chassis as a free-standing unit instead of rack-mounting the chassis,
you need to install the four rubber feet that shipped with the chassis. To install the four rubber feet,
follow these steps:
Step 1
Place the switch chassis upside down on a flat surface.
Step 2
Attach the four adhesive-backed rubber pads (included in the accessory kit) to the recessed areas on the
bottom of the switch chassis. (See
Figure 6
.)
Step 3
Place the switch chassis right-side up and position the chassis as close as possible to where the DC
source and the system ground are located.
