EFFECTIVITY:

Position bottom of rocket motor (nozzle end) to launch tube.

Carefully insert rocket motor into launch tube.

Serials 1005 thru 1267 after SB2X-95-20,
Serials 1268 thru 1422 after SB2X-95-17,
Serials 1423 & subs w/o Perspective after SB2X-95-18, 2228 & subs:

If frangible

link hole on rocket motor case does not align with longer anchor block on launch
tube, perform Inspection/Check - Rocket Motor Case Alignment.

(Refer to 95-01-01)

Apply plastic fastener threadlocker to nylon screws.

Install nylon screws securing rocket base to rocket motor. Torque to 3.0 ±0.5 in-lb
(33.9 ±5.6 Ncm).

CAUTION:

Do not cross thread or over-tighten nylon screws.

Serials 1005 thru 1422:

Install rocket shield and shelf.

Slide rocket shield over rocket motor and position shield to rocket motor screw
holes.

Slide rocket shelf over rocket motor and position shelf to rocket motor screw holes.

Install screws and washers securing shelf and shield to rocket motor and safety
wire.

Serials 1423 & subs:

Install rocket shelf assembly.

Slide rocket shelf assembly over rocket motor and position shelf to rocket motor
screw holes.

Install screws and washers securing shelf assembly to rocket motor and safety wire.

(i)

Serials 1005 thru 1267 before SB2X-95-20, 1268 thru 1422 before SB2X-95-17,
Serials 1423 & subs w/o Perspective before SB2X-95-18, 2016 thru 2227:

Secure firing

pin actuator.
1

Carefully remove safety wire from firing pin actuator.

Ensure firing pin actuator is rotated so threaded side of actuator is facing aft and
screw head attaching activation cable to firing pin actuator will be visible through
rocket cone inspection hole when installed.

Apply light threadlocker to screws used to secure rocket cone to rocket igniter.

Position and secure rocket cone onto rocket igniter with screws.

CAUTION:

Ensure the exact stackup of the attaching hardware, noted during disassembly, is
replicated during reassembly.
