address of the SNAP. As remotes register with the SNAP, the SNAP will dynamically and
randomly assign port numbers. The SNAP will not assign a remote device port numbers reserved
for standard services, such as FTP.
To make a static assignment of a port number to a specific remote device, use the
tcp remote
add
command but do not enter an IP address. For example, to assign port number 5000 to a
remote device with radio serial number 104050, type:
tcp remote add 10-40-50 5000<CR>
If an
ipbase
has previously been entered but remote identification by port number is desired, re-
enter the
ipbase
with a value of 0.0.0.0. This will cause the SNAP to use port numbers to
identify the remotes.
