CONNECTION OPTION #2: CONNECTION USING AUDIO CABLES and LINE OUT
If your receiver does not have a subwoofer or mono output jack, use a dual audio cable to connect a LINE OUT
from the receiver to the subwoofer's LINE IN jack. No audio cables from the subwoofer's LINE OUT jacks are
needed in this set-up. The illustration below shows the recommended hook-up.
CONNECTION OPTION #3: CONNECTION USING AUDIO CABLES and SUB OUT
If you have a Subwoofer output jack on your receiver, connect it to the subwoofer's SUB IN jack using a single
audio cable. The illustration below shows the recommended hook-up.
SUBWOOFER ADJUSTMENT AND OPERATION
Subwoofer initial control settings
• Set the LOW PASS FREQUENCY control to its center position.
• Turn the LEVEL control fully counterclockwise to MIN. You will reset this control after you make other
adjustments.
Adjusting the Subwoofer controls
• Play a program on your system. For the following adjustments, we recommend using the Dolby Surround
mode if available. If not, play a music CD. Adjust the receiver's volume control so that a comfortable sound
level is obtained from the system speakers.
• Increase the subwoofer's LEVEL control setting clockwise, until the bass reaches the desired level.
• Listen carefully to bass voices and, if necessary, adjust the LOW PASS FREQUENCY control so that the bass
voices sound natural.
• Adjust until the program has satisfying and natural sound quality on both bass voices and music.
