Caution: When cutting metal, use cutting oil to cool the blade or damage may result to
the blade.

5.

With the blade in motion, place it against the stock to be cut.

Press down on the Saw to help it cut. Do not use too much force, only enough to keep
the Saw cutting.

6.

Adjust the reciprocating speed of the Saw by moving the Variable Speed Switch (1)
with your thumb (forward or backward) while the Saw is running.

7.

To stop the Saw, release the Switch.

If the Switch has been locked in the ON position, press and release the Switch. This
will turn the Saw off.

8.

Rotate the Variable Speed Switch to return the reciprocating speed to its slowest
position.

9.

Unplug the Line Cord.

WARNING:  Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other
construction activities, contain chemicals known [to the State of California] to cause
cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.  Some examples of these chemicals
are:

Lead from lead-based paints

Crystalline silica from bricks and cement or other masonry products

Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber

Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of
work.  To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a well ventilated area, and
work with approved safety equipment, such as those dust masks that are specially
designed to filter out microscopic particles. (California Health & Safety Code  25249.5,
et seq. )

Maintenance

Caution: Before performing any maintenance, unplug the Line Cord from the electrical
outlet.

1.

Periodically clean or blow out the motor ventilation slots.

This will prevent the motor from overheating.

2.

Replace the saw blade when it becomes worn, bent, or damaged in any other way.

3.

Wipe the tool with a clean cloth after every use.

4.

Over time, the Carbon Brushes (7) in the motor will wear
and may need replacement.

When the Carbon Brushes are completely worn out, the
Saw will not operate. The Carbon Brushes should be
replaced by a qualified technician. They can be
accessed by removing the Brush Caps (6) atop and
below the Motor Housing.
