Discharge Conveyor Drive Roll
Tracking Tape Replacement
Tracking tape is used to hold discharge ribbons
in proper position during operation to keep
ribbons from moving laterally or overlapping
each other.
Tracking tape is positioned underneath the
center of each ribbon and wound around the
outside of the drive roll.
Required Tools
pliers, permanent marker, scraper/
sandpaper/steel brush, soft cloth
Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Make sure there is enough 1" (25 mm) tape
available to replace the old material. One
roll of tracking tape is required.
Make sure the DISCHARGE CON-
VEYOR UP/DOWN switch is in the UP
position.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Move the unit away from the ironer to
provide adequate working room.
With the discharge conveyor in the up
position, ribbon tension will be relaxed.
Pull the ribbons around their tracks until
all the lacing clips are accessible and
aligned at the drive roll.
Remove the connecting pins from all the
ribbons and move them away from the
drive roll. It is not necessary to remove
them from the machine.
Remove the old tape from the drive roll.
Mark the center position of each tape with
a permanent marker so new tapes can be
properly positioned.

Perform only when the unit is OFF
with power disconnected.
Turn power OFF at the main disconnect
switch.
Open the left endframe door.
Locate the delivery drive motor mounting
bolt (Figure 7-38, A) and loosen it.
Locate the adjustment bolt in the slotted
hole and loosen it (Figure 7-38, B).
Carefully swing the motor until the belt
has the proper tension.
Tighten both bolts.
Close the left endframe door.
Turn power ON at the main disconnect
switch. Start the unit to check the adjust-
ment.
