(RKE) REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY

**P-7/9 (Owners)
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) System Operation

The Keyless Access system allows for vehicle entry when the remote key is
within 1 m (3 ft). See “Keyless Access Operation” later in this section.

The remote key functions may work up to (197 ft) away from the vehicle.
 This Keyless Access system allows you to unlock and unlatch the doors and
hatch/ trunk without removing the remote key from your pocket, purse,
briefcase, etc.

The Keyless Access system can be programmed to unlock both doors on the
first door handle touchpad press from the driver door. Keyless Access can
also be turned Off. See Vehicle Personalization P-97
ENABLE KEYLESS
UNLOCKING

**P-9 (Owners)
1- With the vehicle off, press and hold (LOCK) and (UNLOCK) on the remote key at
the same time for approximately three seconds.
2- The turn signal lamps will flash twice quickly to indicate access is enabled.
3- Enabling Keyless Unlocking may also be configured in Vehicle Pesonalization.
DISABLE KEYLESS
UNLOCKING

1- With the vehicle off, press and hold (LOCK) and (UNLOCK) on the remote key at
the same time for approximately three seconds.
2- The turn signal lamps will flash four times quickly to indicate access is disabled.
3- Using any exterior handle to unlock the doors or open the hood or hatch/trunk
will cause the turn signal lamps to flash four times quickly, indicating access is
disabled. If disabled, disarm the alarm system before starting the vehicle.
4- Disabling Keyless Unlocking may also be configured in Vehicle Personalization
.
KEYLESS UNLOCKING

**P-9 (Owners)
1- Press the door handle touchpad to unlock and open the doors if the remote key
is within 1 m (3 ft).
PASSIVE LOCKING
(RKE)
**P-9 (Owners)
1- Keyless Access will lock several seconds after all doors are closed if the vehicle
is off and at least one remote key has been removed or none in the vehicle.
2- The fuel door will also lock.
3- To customize whether the doors automatically lock when exiting the vehicle,
see “Passive Door Lock” under Vehicle Personalization P-97.
4- If equipped with remote folding mirrors, passive locking may fold and unfold
the mirrors. See Folding Mirrors P-25.
CAUTION

If passive locking is enabled, the doors may lock with the remote key inside
the vehicle.


**P-10 (Owners)
1- Temporarily disable passive locking by pressing and holding (UNLOCK) on the
interior door switch with a door open for at least four seconds, or until three
chimes are heard. Passive locking will then remain disabled until the vehicle is
turned on.
AUTOMATIC DOOR
LOCK
**P-16 (Owners)
 The doors will lock automatically when all doors are closed, the ignition is
on, and the vehicle is shifted out of P (Park).
 Automatic door locking cannot be disabled.
 Automatic door unlocking can be programmed in Vehicle Personalize P- 97.
LOCKOUT
PROTECTION
**P-17 (Owners)
 If the ignition is on or in ACC/ACCESSORY and the power door lock switch is
pressed with the driver door open, all the doors will lock and only the driver
door will unlock.
 Lockout Protection can be manually overridden with the driver door open by
pressing and holding Q on the power door lock switch.
