DIESEL ENGINES
ACCELERATOR A N D THROTTLE LINKAGE ADJUSTMENT

N O T E : Refer to Figure 1.
1. Disconnect pull-back spring. Disconnect
accelerator rod assembly at cross shaft lever.
2. Block accelerator pedal down firmly
against floor mat.
3. Hold governor lever in full throttle posi­
tion and adjust length of accelerator rod assembly
until end of rod assembly fits freely into cross
shaft lever.
4. Connect rod assembly and release ac­
celerator pedal. Connect pull-back spring.

Key numbers in following text refer to
figure 4.
N O T E : Pedal stop (1) should be in forward
hole of accelerator bracket assembly for correct
adjustment.
1. Depress pedal assembly (2) to floor and
block.
2. Move lever (3) to extreme forward posi­
tion (wide-open internal stop).

3. Adjust swivel (4) on rear rod assembly (5)
to enter freely into hole (6) on lever (3).
4. When actuated, pedal assembly should be
5 /8 " from floor pan when lever (3) has reached
forward stop.
H A N D THROTTLE ADJUSTMENT
Adjust hand throttle as instructed previously
under "Gasoline Engines.”
ENGINE N O R M A L STOP CONTROL
1. With engine stopped, loosen screw which
locks control wire to swivel, then push engine
stop handle completely in.
2. Move stop lever on governor or injection
pump as far as possible toward end of control
wire, then tighten screw to lock control wire to
swivel. Be sure lever clamp bolt is tight.
3. Start engine; check action of stop control.
EM ERGENCY STOP
A spring loaded latch located at front of en­
gine blower retains cam of emergency stop mech­
anism in the open position. If latch is pulled away
